Privacy

Short version: this site has no account system, no contact form and no newsletter, so there's very little for it to know about you.

What gets collected

Nothing you type. There's no registration, no login, no field that asks for a name or an email. The amount you enter into the converter stays in your browser and is used to build the outgoing link — it isn't stored or sent anywhere by this site.

Wallet addresses are never entered here. If a page ever appears to ask you for one, you're not on this site.

Access logs

Like more or less every website, the server that delivers these pages records ordinary request data: IP address, the time, which page was fetched, the user agent string. That's standard hosting behaviour, used to keep the site running and to see roughly how much traffic it gets.

Storage in your browser

This site runs Google Analytics to count page views and see which pages get read. It sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_0BXGF8YDNQ, which tell one browser from another, and reports aggregate figures: page views, rough country, device type. It never receives what you typed into the converter, and we don’t sell or share the data.

Outside services the pages talk to

Two, and both of them are visible in your browser's network panel.

  • A public market data API, called once per page load to refresh the prices in the converter. The request carries no information about you beyond what any HTTP request carries.
  • A font provider, which serves the typefaces the pages use. Loading a font from a third party means your browser makes a request to that provider.

If the price request fails, the numbers baked into the page stay on screen and nothing breaks.

Clicking the swap button

Swap buttons take you to an external exchange. The link carries the amount you entered and referral parameters identifying where the click came from. From the moment you land there, that service's privacy policy applies, not this one. Read it before you send anything.

Later versions

This page can be updated. The version published at this URL is the one in force, and there's no mailing list to announce edits on.
